Position: Epic Clinical Project Manager
Description:
Maintain the scope, schedule, and quality of the project for the Clinical EHR build team. Modules in scope are: IP ClinDoc with Secure Chat & Rover, IP Clinical Case Management, Orders, Behavioral Health, Long-Term Care, Willow IP and Amb, plus Inventory, Ambulatory and EpicCare Link, Wisdom, MyChart, Healthy Planet, Bugsy.
Set clear expectations for team members, including what is needed at each phase. Work closely with the EHR Program Director and other project managers to coordinate activities.
Engage the business community in the project. Advise, coach, and guide team members on project issues and success factors.
Communicate consistently with the project team and executives. Organize and motivate resources and match team skills to responsibilities.
Manage the project organizationally and handle detailed tasks.
Act as a support contact for revenue cycle, identify and troubleshoot technical issues, and serve as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic implementation staff.
Work with Epic representatives, business community, and end users to ensure the system meets business needs. Develop understanding of operational needs and participate in training, work with end users, and maintain required documentation.
Report project status and issues to leadership, hold regular team communications, and develop and maintain State CIO and DHHS PMO project documentation.
Requirements: Required: Certified by Epic in at least one Clinical Inpatient or Ambulatory application.
Experience with IT projects delivering/enhancing EHR clinical applications.
Experience in clinical healthcare IT projects.
Ability to create project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
Very strong work ethic and capacity to meet aggressive timelines.
Strategic planning skills and understanding of roadmap development.
Ability to lead effective project meetings tailored to audience.
Negotiation, written/oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to write and present effective project materials (presentations/reports).
Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, IT personnel, and vendors.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with business/program partners.
Skill in identifying/resolving system or process/project issues.
Ability to build, lead, and motivate effective teams.
Flexibility, adaptability, and capability to work in dynamic demanding environments.
Strong analytical skills.
Experience in managing legacy system replacement projects, data conversion, and rollout plans.
Epic clinical EHR experience required.
PMP Certification, State Government experience preferred.
Ability to help identify areas for clinical workflow improvement.
Benefits: Mostly remote hybrid arrangement: One-week orientation session in September on-site, plus likely 1 week per month onsite throughout the project; on-site for 2-4 weeks for go-live prep and go-live support for each deployment wave (3 total waves). Overall, 8-12 site visits on average during project but could vary.
Competitive contract compensation: $110/hr.
